Dear Neighbors,

As some of you may already know, a company called Knife River – NW is proposing to build a cement batch plant at the address of 7511 NE 101 Street, Vancouver, WA 98662, which is 4 min South of Amberglen (1.4mi) away.  When fully operational, this plant can make up to 200 truck loads of concrete every 24 hours and it is planned for this factory to operate 24 HOURS A DAY.

One of the main concerns, is that this plant is proposed to be build literally between neighborhoods and in peoples backyards.  I know this sounds like fiction, but unfortunately it is true.  If you think that each and everyone of us will not be affected by silica dust, noise pollution, and increased heavy truck traffic in our area, you are fooling yourself.

Soon, by the end of this month, Knife River will be submitting their plans to the county for approval to build this monstrosity literally in our backyards; I’m assuming there will be ability to comment and hopefully the county will not grant the permission to build.  I hope that there is a significant opposition to this from the all the people who live in this area and breathe this air.  Please consider calling and writing  to the county during the commenting period; and perhaps going to the meetings if they are held.

Thank you,

Mikhail Nekhamis
